Jessie Garland

Jessie's Bio

Jessie has lived in Tiny since 2003 as a seasonal resident and full time since 2020. She brings more than 40 years of experience with multinational financial institutions and insurance companies to her campaign for council.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and completed the Canadian Securities Course in 1988. She is fluent in German and has a working knowledge of French. As a Senior Commercial Liability Underwriting Specialist, she assessed risk, wrote liability contracts, reviewed Common Law and Civil Code Case Law, and read financial statements daily — skills that translate directly to scrutinizing municipal budgets and contracts.

Jessie has served as President of the Bluewater Dunes Ratepayers Corporation since 2016. In that role she has listened to residents' concerns and worked with the township and other parties to find practical solutions. She currently sings with the "Sing it Ladies Choir" in Midland and stays actively involved in the life of her community.

Why she's running

Tiny is at a turning point. Jessie believes residents deserve a councillor who will ask hard questions about spending, push for better roads and infrastructure, reopen regular town-hall meetings, and treat the deputation process as a real conversation — not a formality. She is committed to being your voice in council.
